Top 2 Tuesday

You guys are so lucky... you'll be getting two Tuesday posts from me!

WOOHOO!

My friend Laura has an awesome blog and through her I found this blog. Taylor does a fun Tuesday link up... Top 2 Tuesday!

This week the Top 2 is your two favorite drinks.

My number one is:

COKE.  Particularly a Sonic Route 44 Coke.  Something about those little magical balls of ice makes it even better.  YUM.

My number two is:

Capri Sun Orange.  I know, it's not that exciting.  But seeing as how we're listing our favorites this is it ok?  I'm not going to lie and tell you it's water ;)  I love orange Capri Sun but I can almost never find it.  When I do I always buy two!

What's your favorite drink?

I'm addicted... and I just don't care.

Actually there's probably a few things I could mention that I'm addicted to {Sonic} but today I'm grappling with my addiction to this.

I play Mahjong on my computer all the time. I especially like to watch TV and play Mahjong. This can go on for hours.  Seriously.  As a matter of fact I've been working on this post for days but I've been getting sidetracked... by Mahjong. {the below image is from the actual one that I play}

I find that it's so calming I get caught up in it I don't realize how the time is flying...until it's 1am and I realize just how severely I'll be paying for it in the morning.

With my old laptop, at one point I fell asleep in bed with it on my lap and rolled over and it fell on the ground cracking the screen.  That was a $200 mistake I won't be making again{hopefully}.

Anywho, I gotta get back to my game.  The game that doesn't reward me in any facet.   The game that ensures my laundry goes unfolded.  The game that is number one in my favorites.  Anyone else addicted to an online game?

Baring your soul

J2 and I went to see Soul Surfer about this girl today...

Bethany Hamilton!  I remember hearing and reading about her several years ago when she was attacked by a shark and lost her arm.  As sensational as that is what's amazing about her is her strength and determination to carry on. What an inspiration!

The movie was really good.  It was filmed in Hawaii which is insanely gorgeous and it kept me pretty interested.  Carrie Underwood was in it too, and although people are excited to see her in this, she did not fit the bill in my opinion.  Maybe a few acting lessons and definitely voice lessons.  I KNEW she was from "the mainland" by her accent.

Sidenote, Dennis Quaid was the dad and I never really noticed his wonky smile.  Makes him look like the joker!

Wedding tomorrow for my cousin- I'm super excited!

Say what?! This is perfect for me!

I just saw this on another blog and thought "Um, this is so me!" and I had to jump on board!  Because I think you guys all know of my self proclaimed love for all things Target related.  See this and this and this and this.

Now I'm not sure what the rules are but I'm just jumping in because A- I love Target and B- it's Tuesday!

As mentioned before we are really trying to limit ourselves to going to Target together once a month.  Yesterday my sister asked if we wanted to go and I did but I also had planned on having the kids help me mow/edge the lawn.  That didn't work because I think the mower needs gas and there's no string in the edger so we just gave up, called my mom, picked her up, and headed to Target.  I had gone on Saturday to get the fan {remember that post?} so I just needed a few things like milk, oj, and something else that is now escaping me. We won't talk about the fact that I left my whole purse at home and thank goodness my mom was there to pay for my stuff and that's the main reason why I didn't buy anything else there!  So I don't have anything fancy to show off this time but I can bet I will next time!!

What a fun idea though- Target Tuesday.... what's in your cart?

The ears have it!

More on my connection to this later but I was so excited last night when the women won on Celebrity Apprentice!

Marlee Matlin's charity is the Starkey Hearing Foundation and they received a cool million dollars because of the fundraising efforts that happened on last night's episode!

My sweet baby girl has been wearing hearing aids since she was 4.  I'm thankful for the technological advances in hearing aids and especially those brought about by Starkey.  I am very happy I've been able to provide her with hearing aids and couldn't imagine not being able to hear let alone not have the ability to purchase hearing aids.  What a great organization to help- way to go Marlee!

Be thankful for your good hearing today :)

Another post on love...

Amore.

Smitten.

In lurve.

That's me.

I'm a happy gal tonight.

Why you might ask?  You see I hate the hot weather.  HATE IT.  So much so that my favorite place is Maine.  Have you been to Maine?  This is what it looked like the first time I went.

Um yeah so back to my extreme dislike of heat... What's terrible is when you are hot at night.  That's awful.  I suppose it doesn't help all that much that I sleep with a down comforter {also not so good for my allergies but I digress}.  I love my comforter and with it being so old it's worn in and perfect.  But in the summer it's just too dang hot to use it.  And it doesn't feel right to just sleep with a sheet either.

Soooo I've been meaning to pick up a fan for my room for a while now {I have a ceiling fan, but my room is what used to be the garage and it's huge and the poor fan even on high doesn't seem to make a dent in there.  I also have two a/c vents going in there and my ac is on 71 but again it doesn't seem to make a dent.  When you walk in my room from the living room the warm air literally hits you in the face!}

I finally remembered tonight when I was at- let's all say it together- Target!  There was a whole row of different fans for me to choose from.  Did I want a box fan?  I seem to recall those working pretty well...

Did I want a desktop fan?  I could put it on my headboard and just aim it at me....

Did I want a stand fan?  That seemed to be more of what I was looking for..

Then next to the stand fans were the tower fans.  I had no idea how my life was about to change.

I couldn't find the fans at first so I flagged down a redshirt {you know like the redcoats? LOL} and she showed me where they were.  She went off to find a window shade {for your car's front window, which they did NOT have, how rude!} and when she came back she must have seen me looking somewhat confused and she gave me her advice.  Box fan was ok, the desktop fan was not very effective for a large space, the stand fan was good, but the tower fan is numero uno.  Then she proceeded to do something very cool {haha, cool get it?}  She told me to go next door to Home Depot because they're usually $10 cheaper!  You don't have to tell me twice.

Once I got there and found their fan section I discovered they indeed did have a cheaper fan that was essentially the same.  However it did not come with a remote and you could not control the temperature.  I made a judgement call and went back to Target and got the other fan.  Thank you Target Red Card for saving me 5%.

I took that bad boy home {and passed the horrifying amount of junebugs awaiting me on my porch- GROSS!} and put it together. I've been lying in bed now for over an hour and I am frozen but it still feels oh so good.  This baby is amazing.  You can put it down to 60, which I did.  You can choose one of 7 different speeds {including a white noise speed which I like and might use if it ever is not hot here again}.  You can oscillate it.  You can even set a timer but I think I need it cool all day and night.

This will be me tonight-

Two posts in two days about love.  And neither of them having to do with people.  Hmmmm.....

I'm in love with a nut!

A soy nut that is...

When we were in Boston we had some soy nuts.  We actually all enjoyed them so my friend gave us the whole bag.  Due to a very unfortunate accident with a ziploc they're all gone now and I can't seem to find any in the store :(  But I found some online and think I'll be checking them out.  It makes me feel good saying I'm eating soy!

Tonight I'm heading to a Pampered Chef party {those are my favorite since you get to eat!}.  I just bought a few things from another party but there's always more kitchenware to be bought right?

Have a good weekend!
